As we grow up, we meet a lot of assholes and all they do is tell you you are not good enough and that thing is what makes us doubt ourselves and makes us feel like we will never be good enough no matter what. At times, it gets so deeply rooted in our mind that we start to lose all the confidence we have in ourselves; and before we know it, there seems to be no point in living a life so we just end up existing and going through the motions of life.
No one likes to live that way but sometimes you just fall into the same old trap of a very low self-esteem. Here are some things you will relate to if you have self-esteem issues:
#1. Whenever you feel fear and anxiety, it is always felt in extremes.
#2. The little voice inside your head tells you how bad you are. It has been going on for so long that the dislike has turned to loathing and you can do nothing about it.
#3. There is a constant anger and resentment for who you are as a person and whenever you make a mistake, you don’t forgive yourself for it.
#4. You’re a perfectionist and that need comes with your need to never become a failure.
#5. You hate your body. You constantly think of yourself as ugly and unworthy and this directs the way you behave at work and in relationships that you have.
#6. Somehow, you feel that you are not as valuable as others and are worthless.
#7. Every single comment or criticism never leaves your mind and you are over sensitive about it.
#8. You’re fearful and anxious.
#9. Small things can trigger your anger which has been building up inside you because of your own thoughts.
#10. You love to please people just so they like you and respect you but you end up feeling used.
#11. You spend a LOT of time comparing yourself with others and always find that you are no where as good as them.
#12. You prefer to not spend time with yourself because when you are alone with your thoughts, they convince you how bad and unworthy you are.
#13. You look at your friends or the person you are dating and try to think of a reason why they are dating you and you can’t think of anything worthy to be loved in you.
#14. You try to hide or blend with your surroundings because you think that if people see the true you, they will leave you.
