Weddings are a grand affair, anywhere in the world. Gujarati weddings, however, come with a flavor of their own. These weddings are different yet same to all the weddings in the country. If you ever attend a Gujarati wedding, apart from noticing how colourful it is, you will also notice a few things that happen at every Gujarati wedding. They are:
#1. There will always be people who do not belong to either side and are crashing the wedding just for the food. That is the only reason they are there, after all.
#2. Bride’s friends will check out the groom’s friends. A silent competition as to who is more fun is always going on.
#3. If you are young and available, all you have to do is dress up and attend one of the weddings. You will surely find someone.
#4. There are aunties who have taken it upon themselves to find partners for everyone who is single and weddings are their playground. You can’t miss them at all.
#5. There will be someone or the other debating about who is better – the girl’s side or the guy’s side.
#6. You will always come across people who will find faults with everything – the food, the girl’s weight, the decoration or the hospitality.
#7. You will always catch a few people who have already found someone and are flirting secretly throughout the wedding.
#8. You will definitely find a group of people holding a chaas competition because chaas is life!
#9. There will always be someone who will forget steps during sangeet. Oh and we can’t forget all those emotional relatives who give spontaneous speeches which make everyone tear up.
#10. There will always be some non-Gujarati people who will end up missing non-veg food and will complain about how sweet Gujarati food is.
#11. There will always be some NRI guy or girl who will be the center of a lot of attention.
#12. There will always be aunties who are trying to find out what gifts the bride’s family is giving the bride. You will see them asking almost anyone.
#13. Gujarati wedding and no garba!? Our weddings are incomplete without garba, and we can do them anywhere and at any time. Yeah, we can do garba moves on Cheap Thrills too.
